History of Brushy Mountain Winery
Today, Brushy Mountain Winery continues in the tradition and spirit of the old Elkin Canning Company at 125 West Main — we still work with locally grown fruit and transform into something you can enjoy. Now we source from local vineyards and artfully transform that fruit into great wines. Brushy Mountain was established in 2005 by Ann and Matthew Mayberry in the Harris Building in historic downtown Elkin. Many of their wines have been named after local legends, including civil war and revolutionary war legends. The labels of the fruit wines were designed from the labels of the cans from the Elkin Canning Company. Brushy Mountain Winery was purchased by Brushy’s long-time winemaker Jason Wiseman in 2013. Jason has roots in western North Carolina, and is now happy to call the Yadkin Valley home. Brushy will continue the tradition of making great North Carolina wines in historic downtown Elkin for years to come. Step back in time by and stop by for a tasting or a glass of wine in our beautifully remodeled space and modern winery.
